I was told you only need to be competative and be inside a certain percentage of the lap!
Anyway, Paul, me and my dad a novices at this aswell, i've only been a few times (3 i think) and when i first went i did get a few strange looks - probably because i was wearing a pink and blue suit! - but after a while they got used to me and as i got faster it got a lot better! The second time i went out, at bayford i made a mistake a braked too early, the kart behind me got a surprise and i ended up spinning off. But after when we all went in he parked his kart right beside me and came up to me and apologised, even though it was my fault! First time i went out, there were quite a few dads talking to my dad about the kart set-up etc and lines and we were welcomed like "part of the family" so it was probably the drivers of those "non plated karts" as alfie?alan? calls them that were the ones that came up to you! Good luck and don't give up! You and your sons are going to love it! (i know i do! hehe) Thomas........
