Heating it may have two effects, one being to expand the ali, the other being to melt any loctite or similar which may have been used to lock the thread in.
Galvanic action can cause the junction to corrode and pit, leaving deposits on the steel which can lock the thread in place.
Water can act on the ali to produce HAO, which crystallises and expands 8 times, which also locks the thread.
I think a solution of phosferric acid will disolve teh steel but leave the ali intact (also Coke, the drink) and you can always cut the stud off close to the surface and drill out the centre, ideally using a left hand drill and then a screw extractor.
And if all that fails, try a plunge spark eroder to remove the stud body but not its thread and clear the thread with a tap. Your local tech college may help!
