This is Adam's dad here, Dave. We aplogise to all other competitors at the weekend.
People that know me and Adam know that we would not do such a thing on purpose. This was a genuine mistake for which we are sorry.
During the first heat Adam's clutch failed. We tried to change the clutch but ended up using another engine which was fitted in the 20 minute lunch break. Previously this engine had been raced as a junior which Gareth and myself did not realise at the time. We soon did after Adam went out! It is not an excuse but just what happened.
Adam was then disqualified from heat 2. He started the final in 16th position and finished 5th, setting fastest lap with the mini restrictor fitted. We asked for it to be checked when the race finished.
This has never happened to us before and Adam in particular was devastated.
