Not every road legal helmet has a gold sticker! What the gold sticker (ACU Gold standard as it is known) states is that it is approved for Track Motorsport (i.e. motorcycle racing).
You need to get in touch with the manufacturer, reseller and find-out if it has ECE certification (all ACU helmets have) and then you know if it is OK to use.
Motorcycle helmets are designed and tested to resist impact and abrasion resistance in different areas of the crown to the car helmts. They also have a bigger visor aperture due to various viewing angles required by different styles of riding. From laid back cruisers, upright nakeds to full on the bars supersports. Car helmets tend to have a smaller aperture due to permanent seated position, as well as wider to aid peripheral vision.
