My advice woul dbe to get the tution now as it will mean the lads paractise what they have been taught rather than develop bad habits.
Also I would try to get a set of teh correct tyres for minimax - SL8 - which are a bit harder than the SL6 tyre you are running (coincidently SL6 run on lower pressures normally than 14PSI).
There is no quick way to learn the hard way and testing is by far the best way to work out what a specific chassis set up change does - go extreme even, however, on the Technical section of this site there is a very good article that describes front end geometery which I still refer to on occassions (7 years on).
In teh meantime - welcome to the sport. I hope you and your lads get a load of enjoyment from it.
