I think you missed the point that Big P was making. The 1200 included a competitive kart & engine package, tyres, entry fuel, transport to and from circuit of all equipment (except driver & race ware) plus a mechanic. Damage to be paid for at retail cost of parts. If you are under the impression that a once a month meeting at that price will pay a salary I think you will struggle to eat! Do the maths, based on a Snr Max. Kart 5K end of year value 2K = cost 3K. Running cost of van to 10 meetings Minimum 1K, Mechanic @ 150 per day = 1.5K, Tyres 1.2K, Entry fees 500 Race fuel & lubricants, chain lube, brake cleaner ect. 300. We already have spent over 8K of leaving only 4k for the depreciation on van & awning that's assuming that you already have the van & awning to start with so not much of a salary is it. The 1200 sounds expensive but for a competitive arrive n drive package it is probably about right, having said that you should be looking at about 150 - 200 for a mechanic and awning space for a meeting which is a far more profitable way to go than supplying everything with less risk as anyone spending 1200 for a package will expect, and rightly so, top equipment in top condition and it is going to be your fault if they don't win even if they are rich & crap!!
