Anyway, even if you took every shortcut, you would STILL not take the lap record.

So your arguement is hypathetical :)

The fact that you seem intent on taking things to the Nth degree, shows a remarkable disdain for fellow drivers.

They are sensible and would not embark on the course (no pun intended) you put forward in your argument so hopefully the situation would not arise.

The track is by the side of a river so the naughty ones end up in there anyway.

Surely Ian, YOU of all people can't quibble about the meaning of words, considering your considerable lexicon.
