Roadrat I can understand your dilema, especially as you have done so much already for your son. I am sure there are plenty of other fathers of talented drivers who have had to call it a day. The important thing (and I don't know the age of your child?)is you have given him the opportunity and the experience. When he is older this is something he will appreciate better. There is no given formula for success and yes money helps but talent is something that can't be bought... just like luck! Look back at what you have achieved rather than have any guilt for not going any further. What karting gave me was a stronger bond with my father, it's only now as an adult that I know he moved heaven and earth to afford my racing and that's something I shall always be grateful to him for. I am sure your son will feel the same way.
