No it is NOT 'self evident'!
Start thinking CLEARLY!
Your comment over a missing RADS off the circuity and jumping kerbs is akin to the following:
" Yes, I KNOW that adding 100ccs to the engine is cheating but adding 1cc ISN'T"
In ALL those cases, if you do it KNOWINGLY then you are CHEATING! Yes, adding 100cc to the engine is BLATANTLY CHEATING but it does NOT make adding ONE cc ACCEPTABLE!!
Skipping YARDS out of the circuit does NOT kae skipping FEET L*E*G*A*L!
Use some THOUGHT, man!
You JUMP the kerbs because it makes the lap FASTER!!!!! You also may 'skip' a 'bus stop' for EXACTLY the same REASONS... but BOTH ARE CHEATING!
YES.... you are RIGHT that I take EXTREME positions to illustrate a point! That is s STANDARD debating technique! The 'deal' is that you have to explain WHY the EXTREME is DIFFERENT and thus CANNOT be used! If you can't, then my 'extreme'; has FULLY illustrated the POINT!
In this dicussion, the 'skipping a bus stop' is a PERFECT example! You wouldn't DREAM of doing that as you KNOW that's cheating...... However, you seem to be unable to realise that it ONLY differs from kerb jumping in DEGREE and NOT in PRINCIPLE!!!!
I return to my main point whoich is that YOU (adn the others) fidn kerb jumping 'acceptable' becasue YOU do it and you find bus stop skipping UNacceptable becasue you WOULDN'T do it! It's NOTHING to do with a 'principle', it's about what YOU want to DO!
**************
I will challange YOU to give me the enswers I an trying to get from Davy!
1a) What do YOU think the white lines MEAN at a circuit 1b) Would YOU cross a white line at a corner?
2) How many wheels over that white line is accptable to YOU, 1,2,3 or 4?
The point is that the RULE about the white line was to STOP this line of discussion, it gave a CLEAR limit to the track. Allowing 'skipping' brings ALL those 'grey areas' BACK again!
