"At the end of the day, I'm a racer, not a rule maker or enforcer."
That's not true, is it?
If you saw someone in YOUR race painting-on tyre softener, or adding 'octane boost', or using tyre warmers, or fitting new tyres for the final, etc., what would YOU do? I think you ARE an enforcer.... just like the rest of us.
Secondly, I assume you only place ONE wheel over the kerb. What would you do if you were overtaken by someone cutting a corner COMPLETELY and coming out ahead of you.... e.g., skipping the bus stop at Kim? Would you complain if he hadn't been black flagged? Would you complain if he overtook you AT the bus stop simply by missing ONE corner? WHY? He's only doing EXACTLY what YOU claim you'd do... i.e. crossing the white line. Ok, YOU (I assume) claim it's acceptable to cross it with ONE wheel (because you DO!) but somehow it would seem to be UNaccapetable if HE chooses 4 wheels? What do you do about the people who beat you by using 2, or 3 wheels off the track? And how about if it's NOT your local club but a NATIONAL meeting! You DON'T know that EVERYBODY puts all FOUR wheels on the kerb at Rye but YOU dodn't KNOW that and get beaten by a 'local' whoi KNOWS that they can drive a coauch and horses through the rule book at THAT corner! And that example is NOT 'esoteric', it HAPPENS!
This IS the point! If the rule is up for 'interpretation' how the **** do you ensure that you are ALL using the SAME 'interpretation'? YOU may think 2 wheels is ok; you're competitors think 3 wheels are ok but you are ALL beaten by the guy who believes that FOUR wheels are ok....... and passes the LOT of you by missing the bus stop!
Tell me HOW you are going to go to the CoC and state the following:
" We know the track limit is the white line. We put 1, 2 or 3 wheels OVER that line but HE won by putting FOUR wheels over. We were ALL cheating but he cheated BETTER than us so you should disqualify HIM and not US (because we are CR*P at cheating)!"
Yeah.......
Can I come and listen to the appeal when it comes up?
