On the whole this programme was pretty good publicity for karting,a one hour slot at prime time. Many TV production values were at work here to give interest to the casual viewer. The 5 lap pit stop we all know is fiction but it was set up to give the dad a more obvious input and to fit the Father/son relationship that is the premise of the series. They must have shot a minimum of at least 8 hrs of video and edited down to 52mins leaving out stuff like the ARKS test which was mentioned in the first 10mins. The race it self looked pretty staged but my overall feeling is that it gave a good impression of cadet karting and didnt shy away from the danger element with graphic footage of Stirling Moss and other open top crashes. Certainly gave the impression that theres more to karting than arrive and drive
