DavyBoy says;
"but the MSA have allowed a 12 month dispensation which means you can legally use it on 04.Jan.2009"
Which is great if it was in the Regs?, I can't find it?
These are the current regs:
Short Circuit Karts
154. All short circuit karts must be fitted with bumpers and bodywork providing front, rear and side protection. All bodywork fitted to short circuit karts (with the exception of Cadets) must be CIK Crash-Tested and Homologated, with the sole exception of the rear protection. CIK Crash-Tested and Homologated bodywork will be mandatory for the Cadet Class for newly homologated chassis from 1st January 2010.
Please tell me where it is written down other than the ABkC newsletter where it says it MAY happen.
But as far as I can see from the Blue Book it did NOT happen!
The MSA website says:
For all non-gear box Karts, CIK homologated bodywork must be fitted, unless a currently valid waiver has been granted. For certain gearbox classes you may use twin rail sidebars instead of side pods in accordance to K 171 (Pg346).
So where is the waiver???????????
