Maybe it hasn't affected a lot of the parents yet, after all it is still relatively early days of "the recession" or the trough which comes after the peak of many years sustained (but un-sustainable) economic growth.
Maybe it will put an end to the silly money engines and carbs and get the kids and other classes down to a more grass roots level racing where skill behind the wheel is more important than a 2,000 engine and 400 carb that is combined 4/10th /sec faster than the majority.
Another way it may have a knock on effect is with travelling, the cost of travelling and overnight stays may be more restrictive now and peoples pockets may have to be shortened. Clubbies may have increased attendance and regional rather than National championships may get a better look in.
Whatever happens it WILL get better, I hear the thunder of Ians size 9s, as it always does. We just have to ride it. I hate being in Europe ,but, now would be a good time to join the Euro (currency) and they would PROBABLY help shore up our economy as that would benefit them also, at the moment they are probably laughing at the difference between 1.40 last year and nearly level -Euro now !
