Hi - My son was passing Wombwell kart track with his Mum this afternoon and saw that there had been significant damage - looks like vandals.
The track surface appears undamaged but a big section of the wall near the hairpin has been knocked down. James estimates around 40 blocks taken out - possibly by a car on the track? Broken glass there too - but thats not unusual I guess. I havent seen it so don't know how bad it is. All the tyres on the section before the last turn were on the track too.
They stopped and moved the tyres back and picked the bricks up off the track and put them on the grass near the wall (to hopefully discourage the morons that did this from coming back and slamming the blocks into the track surface and causing permanent damage), but its going to take some rebuilding work before we can all practice / race in two weekends time.
Just thought I'd alert you so the work can be planned.
I - like many SYKC members, I'm sure, would be happy to help with the work. The blisters have now healed fully after the big snow clear up !
