On the face of it this appears to be the ROTAX 09 version of the cadet 07/08 Zip TRYONe or a few carb fiasco.
Dealer run / controlled class with them re-inventing the money go round. IF the above threads are true little evaluation/ testing in race conditions prior to rushing products onto the market (JAG/dealers £££££'s)seems to have been done.Customers being found in non compliance to regs not JAG. Of course it will be the usual retort from JAG,you are at fault.you didn't fit/run it in/ jet it properley.
Look how a top mechanic was accused of being a cheat on here recently,"greasing the clutch",when it was grease spatter from the new clutch, fitted as per guidelines.
Before I get slagged off as anti Rotax, last year I was given a brand new re-placement engine off JAG due to a total ##ck up by the Rotax factory and JAG,only for the replacement to go belly up after 10 mins running sorted eventually . I am not having a go at the Rotax product.
Actually the new clutch looks very similar to the Aprilla 125 automatic scooter clutch,or Parilla 100/125 Lynx Leopard one,and don't you have to buy a new type tool to re-place the sprocket £££'s.
Obviously this clutch is going to be the must have accesory for the more looming prestigious meetings, every one will want one to be on a "level" playing field, with a got to have one by 2010 or else rule by JAG supported by our "keep racing costs down" MSA.
Next controversial Rotax update, the 09 barrels. What will barrels be going for,who will be selling from their batch of "selected from the factory"ones and for how much?£££££'s. No2 in the must have for rotax 09 shopping trolley, will this make anything pre 09 un competitive ?? Will motors be going for a pittance as the market is flooded with lower power ones, anything less than **hp rendered to fun racing,or will it lead to a 2 tier Rotax class pre and post 09 structure. Another nail into Rotax ?
