I've just logged on to see what interesting karting info i can pick up today, instead i am amazed to hear how patronising some of the comments on here are. I can't be bothered reading more than a few posts as, quite frankly, life is too short.
NickyW, being condescending and name calling to those who do choose to pose as grid girls (and yes, they DO choose to do it) is pretty below the belt. Unless you actually know a number of these girls in order to cast an informed judgement, then these judgements are unfounded.
Except those in question, whose business is it if these girls look bored? And who said that they don't want to be "wolf whistled" at? They wouldn't put themselves in this position if they were affected by such attention. Newshound is right, are you also campaigning to Bernie and Dorna to rid the grids of F1 and MotoGP of these "tarts"? As for you arrogantly claiming that you are "winning the argument so far", (obviously you feel the need to point this out) if you were on the side of public opinion then surely the billions of people on your side would have voted with their remote controls and these tarts and their negative impact would have been removed from grids around the world? Unless they are actually still on the grid because people tend to think there is an awful lot more to get worked about in life.
I was recently asked by a friend if i knew anyone who might like to do something similar, non-karting promotional shots. My girlfriend and 5 or 6 of her friends were all willing, not because they are sluts but because it's just a bit of FUN!!! They aren't showing anything they shouldn't be and they are all lovely, well educated girls. The word tart could not even me mentioned in the same breath as these girls.
Let people make these choices. This nannying is getting more and more ridiculous by the day.
As for your argument re. the support of demeaning girls by allowing them to wear skimpy clothes if they want to going hand in hand with males who are illiterate, i certainly don't consider myself or many others on here to be illiterate.
In fact, i pride myself on good grammar and articulation so please stop generalising as that, like much of your feminist, verbal diarrhoea on this thread, is both true for only the few and is also offensive.
Anyway, there goes twenty minutes of my life....
Pete
