A number of people on another motor racing site have raised a rather alarming concern about the smallprint on their motor insurance. They have clarified what the words 'excludes use on race circuits' actually means and were told that their vehicles would not be covered once they crossed the perimeter of the circuit, not just on the track. Note, that includes the public areas too !
My own insurance with Admiral doesn't have that wording, however if your's does have wording similar to the above, then you ought to check with your insurance company to clarify exactly what they mean by that, and perferably have them send you a letter of confirmation to back it up.
In the event large segments of the motor insurance industry are derogating from cover within the public areas of motor racing circuits, then tracks will need to issue warnings at the gates and/or provide cover for spectator/competitor vehicles while there.
