i'm gonna let you into a secret! (or is it) When zip recieve a delivery, all the parts are measured and vetted, and then the parts that are closest to the fiche are retained and used by there favoured engine builder! However, to throw a spanner in the works, it isnt only the UK that uses the W60, barrels are back doored in from portugal, meaning they havent been vetted by zip, simply they have had a counterfit zip stamp put on them, combine these with old S60 cranks and casings and you end up with the special motors. Combine all this with mix and match mad carb they are using and you are always gonna struggle. Many years ago we went to Llandow for a bit of fun, and made the local kids look silly with top kit,id made a few friends there and for the last practise session we let one of the local drivers have a go on our kart wi our engine, he went 4 tenths quicker than he had ever gone, and a tenth quicker than we had. Your kid is probably as good as anyone out there, equipment is far more important then driver in the dry, in the wet its another matter. When we went into JICA we never did any good, we couldnt compete with the cheque book racers, we did get our day of glory at a scottish round of super 1 in the wet, but hey ho, the good drivers make there way too the front in them conditions. 3 MSA cadet champs arent racin anymore James Bradshaw Anthony Moss Jimmy Galloway
