Cammy.
if your local track runs Honda cadet i would reccommend going down that road...engines are very reliable and virtualy maintainance free. we are in our first season of racing and i am trying to compete on a budget of 2000 (just to see if its possible) which includes club membership and race entry fees. We have been fortunate this season we have not had any big repair bills.
Honda cadet is a great entry level with close performance between the karts which leads to good racing.
good luck with what ever you decide to get into, i love the karting as much as my son..spending the weekend together. doing something we both enjoy is far better than sitting infront of the tv.
Gordon.
please note that if you are planning to race..make sure you buy the new CMR spec helmet not a Snell one.
(ps...i might have a honda cadet kart for sale in a couple of months..we have 2)
