ive just been prepping my kart and noticed a huge crack on the engine side chassis rail, just opposite where the fuel tank is.it almost spaqns the circumference of the tube!
i have a garage near me that has welded stuff for me before so i will probably go to him,i was just wondering what is the best way to go about this
is it allowed to use a sleeve to reinforce the tubing in tkm?
or would a straight weld do the job?
any thoughts much appreciated as im going to the welders tomorrow morning and racing this weekend
incidentally,in the final last weekend, the last few laps,i thought i had buckled my axle on the engine side as there was a lot of vibration, the next thing i find the bumper bolt had snapped and i got a mechanical flag.i assume the vinration was from the chassis rail adn the extra flex that was occuring was the reason the bumper bolt sheered
