I wrote to John Ryan some weeks ago regarding my safety concerns re the Zip Storm front fairing. The reply I got was very disapointing, in short John Ryan (MSA) have no safety concerns regarding these dangerous fairings. As far as the MSA is concerned they are safe for racing. In my opinion it will take a childs death or serious injury before anything is done.
My son drives an Arrow kart and has had plenty of incidents with his fairing, the Arrow fairing never launches or lifts another kart. However, I have recently bought a Zip Storm, but he won't drive it until I have modified the chassis so it can be fitted with a safe fairing.
I was at Rissy this weekend, it could easily have been worse, again only luck prevented a more serious incident. Don't count on the MSA doing anything about this sad state of affairs!!!
