depends what companies are after....alot of smaller companies just want a good will story, sponsoring a local kid to get him karting, its not a lot of money 50 quid, especially to a company, yes if your asking for thousands then they will want results, but for smaller amounts the publicity of having a photo of you and your kart with their name on it, hanging in their office/entrance hall will be enough for them. i did it when i was in school doing engineering competitions, and when i was drag racing...small amounts here and there add up.

script a letter, explaining who you are, what your doing, wheere and when your racing and what amount your looking for, and what you will do for them, you could have 2 or 3 layers of sponsorship, say 50 quid, 100 quid and 200 quid depending on the size of the sticker.
