From the classes your looking at I'm guessing your son is around 10 years old?
Mini Rotax Max is the KING of cadet classes, more expensive but WELL worth the investment, little to no hassle if brought from new, engines last for hours and they are rapid! They will bare rip past Honda and Comer and Rotax is the biggest supplier of Karts in the world, so you'll have plenty of help. If he's a little older 12/13 I'd look to going into Junor Rotax, which is what I raced. They are MEGA Karts. If you progress through the Rotax classes you can't go wrong, by the time it comes to a engine rebuild your son will probs be ready for the next class anyway, (3 years roughly) so it'll be a nice progression and you won't have the expense of getting new parts for the new class.
Def consider Mini Max my friend, both you and your son will NOT be disappointed.
