There performance is similar to the equivalent Rotax variants, however as with most karts ultimate performance is much more about tyre choice rather than engine.
The series is a one grid national championship focused in the south which visits various tracks.
The championship and it's meetings are run by Club 100.
Do I like it? NO, because it takes karters away from every kart club in the country at a time when we need them all. I also don't like the concept that you cannot buy any part for your chasiss or engine unless you buy it from Birel.
The series originally started with the sales pitch that it was cheap (relativity) to buy a chassis and engine, however given that you as I have said above have to buy all your spares from Birel then they soon get the full price from each customer.
With the recession biting and a number of chassis manufacturers now producing CIK style chassis below the cost of the Birel no castor/camber easykart chassis it remains to be seen if this initial price advantage will remain.
But as I said if you want answers then the easykart forum (http://www.easykart.co.uk/forum/) is the place to ask.
