It would appear DYKC has not ended, due to bad management or any financial troubles, as suggested in an earlier post.
It ended because Teeside Autodrome pulled the plug and the club has no track to race on.
A simple truth. Within days Teesside Autodrome went from being fully supportive to 2010, to saying "here is your notice" your not welcome in 2010.
This thread is about the demise of a club(DYKC) in the North East, and the fact karters young(and old) enjoyed attending and racing at Teesside. It seems to have been overtaken by some MSA or Non MSA debate~(interesting though). I expect Cosgrove has put a lot of money over the counter on a race weekend at Teesside Autodromes and he is entitled to an opinion.
(Not sure if you are interested on my MSA or Non Msa perspective?) I agree that on the whole non MSA racing is not as competitive as MSA. Otherwise get some cadets, for example from Warden law, down to pfi the month before an S1 or Stars round and see if they compete....)
dykc - This might mean people leave the sport and youngsters and families that have spent money at Teesside Autodrome for the last 12 months have been thrown away like a McDonalds wrapper - as they are no longer viable. I understand that if the club cannot afford to do spint/MSA racing anymore that this might have been forced in the current climate. I will be interested to see if they want sprint races next year....
