When did this happen????
After the clutch fiasco last year, some people signed up only to have to fork out for a new clutch and then for the unilogger kit as well, costing hundreds of pounds on top of an already expensive program
Some are suggesting that the prices rises are a direct result of trying to introduce TV coverage to Super 1 - in all fairness, who would be watching besides the competitors themselves??? You could argue it gains another route of exposure to future talent (possibly with futures in cars etc.) - but this is a very small percentage of drivers who would gain from that
It's not like the tracks are packed with spectators, even at big events, so why would TV be any more successful, especially given that it would likely be on some obscure digital channel that most people don't get anyway
Add on top of that, there are now 7 rounds for the series, as opposed to 6 last year, and you can still only drop 2 finals, so it's not even like you could do 5 rounds to cut costs
I'm sure someone from the series could hit me with a pie chart with budget analysis etc. etc. but in all seriousness... recession + price increases = people going without
Just seen the number of people saying they have abandoned the series over this, bad times
