Can anyone clarify the situation regarding juniors participating in S1 Friday practice. I understand that the MSA now has the rule that "All persons in full time education MUST provide a letter of permission from their school, see regulation 2.2.3 and the following extract from the 2010 MSA Competitors Yearbook H.7.1 and W.1.1.3". S1 organisers are stressing this as well "Important; Permission letter from school before 1st round"
Although I haven't approached my son's school for a permission letter yet I know they are very reluctant to grant time off school for anything - even an appointment for my son to see a specialist about his nut allergy!
I'm sure the official line is, understandably, that an approval letter is necessary but will this be strictly enforced? Clearly I don't want to stump up fees which are due soon then be left high and dry if the school refuses to grant permission.
