Not that it ever was, in my opinion.
If people didn't cheat, then everything would be perfect.
I suppose you could make the punishments swingeing, but accidents do happen, I know I've accidentally 'cheated' by inadvertantly utting a little too much Vaseline on my crutch bearing and it's got on the drum, whereas it's normally ok. 99% Of the time.
What do people get out of deliberately cheating though?
You never know how good you were if you cheat.
Is it a team/sponsor pressure thing or a parent ego thing?
What about a sealed filler cap and unions and you present an empty tank at the start and then get the amount of fuel you require 'injected' each time.
If the regs say they need 3 litres to test, how do people with little tanks get on?
