Mainly eat protein while you work out. If you are in 177's you will get away with not doing a lot of cardiovascular work. If you're strenuously doing weights for more than 45 mins then you could probably be okay with 2 days of running etc. Reason being obviously cardio burns fat but with that it can, not always will, but can burn protein tissue (muscle). If you can avoid cardio and don't gain too much fat then I would advise not to do it.
Diet is really the main thing though, eat a decent amount of calories and make sure a lot of the calories come from protein. Also remember to drink a lot of water, when I went to the gym I would shoot for about 3 litres a day, 2 litres throughout the day and 1 litre throughout the gym session. Jonny
