A++ marks for asking the question..... C- for your thinking....!
If you really WANT to be 'quick'... as you claim.... then why the HELL are you not TRYING it already? Our opiniuon of whether you should do it in EVERY corner doesn't matter.... all that matters is that you have TESTED it for yourself. The answer is simple, do it where you can make it work for you and DON'T do it where you can't!
And go MUCH further.... start thinking OUTSIDE the box..... You can bet a BILLION dollars that what makes that lad quick is NOT a single item or single 'trick' but is a whole RAFT of good ideas and good practices..... Watch EVERYTHING that he does, not JUST his braking....., that's only ONE item! And go further still..... watch EVERY driver..... if they are good.....see what MAKES them good.... if they are NOT good... watch and see WHY they aren't good..... because you'll find some of your OWN errors in their mistakes.
Go and buy a few BOOKS on race technique and LEARN from then. Go and Marshal at races where you cannot race, go and watch OTHER types of racing, go and read about PHYSICS and TYRES and engine tuning, and chassis set up and understand what CASTER adjustment does and the differences between the Centre of Gravity of your kart and its 'Centre of Force..... and ALL the other subjects of motor-racing,
.... and so on.....
It's NOT going to be a SINGLE thing..... Being honest, I can't think of a single MODERATELY quick kart driver who DOESN'T use 'trail braking' (a RUBBISH term for for a simply technique!) at various points on the track.
Study widely and wisely and be CERTAIN that no single 'trick' will make you an ACE.... it's about hard graft and/or natural TALENT! It's NOT tricks!
