Hi-my son is doing test sessions at the moment, just been for his 5th session last weekend. He and his 2 cousins are running WTPs whereas all the other cadets at the curcuit are Comer, mainly W60s.
All 3 (WTPs) are running about the same lap times whereas the Comers seem to be 2-3 secs a lap faster. Could be driving of course, but for example, last weekend my son and another Comer came accross a slower kart in the corner before the main straight so both started accelerating at the same time (so nothing to do with lines etc), the Comer pulled away from him easily all the way down the straight.
I always thought they were about the same power wise. Not really too bothered myself as he's not racing and if he does will get a Comer, but is this all down to the engine? It's starting to get to him a bit although he can see he's the same as his cousins. Have tried different sprockets/set-ups and have had an engine re-build, little noticeable difference with a fresh engine.
If its down to the engine will just have to stick with it before he goes racing but if it's driving/set up might invest some money in some form of training from a team. Any suggestions for the North West area, Hooton park and GYG?
