These are you best FIRST steps:

1) Find out where your nearest track is and when it's next event is.

2) Put a message on this board with the title : "newbie cadet needs intro at XXX on YYY"

3) Other people, like Mikey etc., will offer to meet you there and explain a bit about it.

The (and this is CRUCIAL......) attend AT LEAST 2 more meetings, preferably at different local tracks, before you even THINK about putting your hand in your pocket to BUY anything!

In 50 years of karting, I've yet to meet ANYBODY who says 'I waited to long before I bought something' but you'll see saddened, poorer and VASTLY 'better educated' fathers, almost every MONTH, who have bought something BEFORE they have had time to see what they SHOULD have bought!

The order of events is: Go and see AT LEAST 3 RACES before you buy anything!
