" If it WAS as 'simple' as 89cc and Ballhatchet suggest....... SURELY..... the MSA would be making them COMPULSORY.....?!?!"
once again gitpro assumes people's complete stances on a subject without the full facts. even after they have provided info on their position, gitpro still polarises them. very odd.
im pretty sure the MSA leaves it up to choice. some kart suits offer knee and elbow protection. some may say they cause restriction and so opt for something less bulky.
you can only say if a safety device is worth having post event. why would the msa put themselves in a position where legal action could be taken.
it can be easily argued that a driver wearing massive amounts of padding and protection could feel invincible and end up putting his fellow competitors at risk (including him/herself)
making things compulsory is generally a bad idea. just look at the dangers of speed restrictions on roads!
