I don't know whether it is just that no one likes itpro or whether its his argument techniques but he is right.
Suits, helmets, gloves, boots, flameproof undergarments etc are all independantly tested by the CIK, FIA, MSA or all. This independant testing is what makes it a known safety feature. Other such things (knee pads for example) are not for safety, they are for comfort so they are not independantly tested.
The issue for any neckbrace is it is not independantly tested by our sporting body, it could by all means be more dangerous. We have no idea, anecdotal evidence is not enough and i certainly wouldn't trust it. An example is I have a friend who will not wear a seatbelt. His reasoning is that he had a mate who died because he could not move out of the way of a tree coming through the windscreen because his seat belt stopped him from doing so. Therefore in his mind it is proven that seatbelts are more dangerous then they are worth. Do you agree with this? If so then go wear your neck braces, if not wait for an independant motorsport body to do the testing for you.
By all means put pressure on the abkc or msa or cik to do the testing, it maybe that they don't think there is a need for it.
