KGP was established in the "Easykart Environment" long before it hit the track at PFI last weekend. e.g. Free 3 lap session at the Rowrah round in August and the KGP International Trophy being part of the Easykart World Finals at Castelletto the other week. Indeed there were a few drivers racing at PFI the other week who did easykart this year and some of them have never raced in any other series.
IMO, the key for KGP to suceed in the UK is how many drivers take up the class at club level. I know of a few drivers who are commited to it already next year but, as far as I know, they're intending on racing at Super 1 and if it where to become an S1 exclusive class, I reckon it'll soon suffer the same problems as KF.
Personally, I'm sticking with Easykart for 2011. As I enjoy the racing and atmosphere the series has to offer (along with the other perks like the World Finals etc) but if KGP were to establish itself at my local clubs or in a national clubman series, I would certainly consider moving into it. I've seen the karts in action a few times now and they are impressive pieces of kit, much more inspiring than a MAX.
