agree with the comments about just throwing it in the bin, but I must point out a slight mistake in your comments there Ian. I deal with DPA every day as we (as a company) supply our own email marketing system to suppliers, so if I could draw your attention to a section of the DPA where the act gives significant rights to individuals in respect of personal data held about them by data controllers. > To prevent processing for the purposes of direct marketing (in other words, ticking the 'do not share my info' or 'do not send me info on other offers etc' box) So yes it IS against the law and the ICO has recently been given more teeth to deal with people that dont conform to the DPA!! Not that they will, but they CAN!!
