The trouble with leaving the construction of new classes to business it is very short sighted. Very little in terms of resources is used to attract new people into the sport, only enticing a diminishing pool of existing people out of one class into another.
The whole thing needs a more joined up approach, only a national independent body could do this.
Unfortunately I disagree about blueprinting engines, nice in principle, but also a licence to cheat, at least at club level, where scrutineering time is already stretched. Just compare the time needed for scrutineering effectively Cadet libre; Sealed Comers takes a few minutes, unsealed Hondas a lot longer. Yes the Honda is more equal, but most weekends the podium will go home with a box of bits, how does that help reduce costs? Once you can no longer rely on looking for original surfaces, the process will become even more time consuming as well.
