I suppose the cost of karting is (Or should be) in the hands of clubs and drivers.
They could run cheaper tyres in Rotax.
Make them last two/three meetings.
Allow the old air boxes to be used.
Allow old cluch bearing, I know it's cheap but it's unneccessary and gives less support and more wear on the crank.
Specify a particular engine builder to do all the rebuilds and fit their own seals.
Limit the space/square footage a single kart can occupy in the pits.
Mix classes more to bring back the old karts, run a 'run wot u brung class' to give newbies a taste of karting on the cheap to see if they like it.
Get the clubs and drivers to say how karting is going to run, not anyone else, it's your sport.
Clear out the rule book and limit cheque book appeals/protests and have all judiciary go no further than a decision on the day by the clerk/club or steward, referees decision is final, like it or lump it.
Reward bad driving with position drops from 1-60! yep, it could affect you for all heats and the final for a big misdemeanor or your next meeting.
Ban deliberate cheats eg tyre treating, clutch greasing (Not a bit of stray grease) or engine machining, minimum 1 year.
