I race at blackbushe in grids of about 15-20. We have trophies for up to either 4th or 5th and a novice one.
I don't see the point in a trophy for best novice if there is only one novice (I got that one in my first race).
My best trophy was in April last year in my last novice race, there were 8 novices in a grid of 16. I was in my old 2005 chassis and pretty crap engine, however managed to hold off others in the final after some good heats to pick up the novice trophy. That trophy felt like I had actually achived something.
My first proper trophy was in october with a 3rd place out of 15, When you have a couple of top s1 drivers and then the rest of us, 3rd is the best you can realistically hope for. After some good heats I qualified on pole and held of for 3rd in the final.
I agree with some of you guys about the novice one when you are the only novice, and having riduculous numbers of trophies (like that grid out 22 with 12 trophies)
However some of us low budget clubbies only have a chance of getting that 3rd of 4th.
