Such a device would be possible IF... we had a differential in the rear wheels... we don't.
It could be done another way with a 5th, free-rotating wheel dangling down to the ground.... we don't.
It could be calculated with the sort of device on an F1 car which assess the speed of the ground 'going past' (like a 'laser mouse') underneath and comparing that to the rotation speed of the rear axle....
You COULD do a rough calculation comparing the rear axle rotation speed to the rotation of the front wheels.....
However, to the best of my knowledge, no one has EVER stated exactly what 'Release' is.... They give a ROUGH description but, when you look at the description closely, you find that they are describing the action of a vehicle WITH a differential and or a vehicle with enough power to give 'power oversteer' (I.e., smoking rear tyres coming out of a coner on FULL power). Not that many non-gearbox karts can do this..... unless it's wet.......and NONE have diffs !
Just becasue someone tells you they have a device that will do XYZ does not mean that they fully understand the device they are describing.
