Oh dear, my son was a hero until he spun out all on his own on the back straight on lap#3
Was our first race weekend, not the best but we learned an awful lot, we thought we were prepared but we werent, we couldnt react quick enough to reset the kart as the weather and track changed and we let nerves get the better of us. Wheres the valium.......? Going to practice some more before we dip toes racing again but hope to be back september. Heat one - ran into the 2 karts that spun on exit of the double left hander. Heat 2 - got to 6th from 10th - wet setup all wrong. Heat 3 spun out,,,at the double left hander, turned in too late and sharp on the very inside of the bend, silly move, not much grip there in heat 3.... Final, spun out. Son was a bit deflated and so was i BUT we met some very nice people - partly because we parked our tiny trailer and gazebo between a motorhome and a tranny/caravan setup - we were made very welcome and even had people helping us out with the countless dramas. Thank you Hooton and thank you everyone we met for all the help/coffees and moral support!
