Ok to begin with if you compare the weight of a DD kart to that of a TAG kart then straight away there is a difference, not talking performance but more safety. The issue with the karts weighing more and more these days is a big one as the kids aren't becoming stronger and stronger!
Secondly if you have 'followed' TKM then you would notice as soon as an incident takes place the driver is aware of the on-coming traffic situation much quicker than in a TAG...Why? because he has to get out of the kart regardless, where as a TAG piloted kart usually the driver is fumbling around trying to find the starter button to get the thing going as soon as and not considering what is coming, now where is the danger there? Sitting around concentrating on re-starting straight away and missing what is on-coming or being aware of the situation and getting out regardless.
Restarting is at the discretion of the driver/marshall/parent, they take that risk themselves but usually restarting is done off the racing line with little to no effect on racing, ok not always the case but most would agree.
Don't poo poo something that you really don't understand nor thought through correctly.
