2 points I would make is that over the time the clutches have phased in, a lot of drivers who have moved from DD to clutch have told me that they like the fact that they can take more risks as they know they can re-start if they spin or come to a halt, i.e. you can knowingly drive more dangerously, safe in the knowledge that you can keep going if you don't pull a manouvre off properly (or as Chris Compton states in his TKM guide, drive with more courage into a contested corner). It seems that when you make things safer, drivers just drive worse accordingly (the same applies to bodywork on karts - the better it is, the more drivers crash into each other!). Also, one direct example I can use is that the biggest crash I have had is where a clutched driver spun head, then (looking over his shoulder at the oncoming traffic)let his foot off the brake at the last minute and just rolled backwards into me.
