Two things here, the blame game and reducing skill level.
Cold tyre driving is a serious skill, are we going to stop wet weather driving because its a little slippy. Is wet weather driving any less grip then dry cold tyres. I don't think so. Really stop blaming the conditions and sort out the skills of the drivers.
Secondly the likelihood of a first corner crash is a mixture of circumstances, speed is involved but only when distance between drivers is taken into account. So old european races (before they put an acceleration line in there) had very little first corner incidents because they were going flat out of the last corner and everyone was very spread out. Now they are all bunched up there are bound to be more accidents.
