At least the lad got a Number Plate, I won the Easykart World Title last year and all I got was a few facebook photo tags and a mention in Karting Mag!!!
Joking aside, if clubs want to give out special number plates to winners of their events then great. My first ever final win was the Rowrah O Plate back in 2005 as a Junior and it meant a great deal to me at the time, everytime I raced there afterwards I always made sure the zero was the cleanest and most visable number on the grid!
Best thing about these titles is that it gives people who can't afford to race in the National races a chance to earn a prestigious number plate of some form or the other, and non-members a yard stick to compare themselves against.
Rowrah have always given out a C Plate to their club champions, certainly during the time I've been driving go karts (year 2000 onwards).
