Next to impossible job for CoCs at the start if there's a full grid. At my most recent meeting the CoC stopped several grids for not being at the correct starting speed, and for weaving to warm up the tyres. The marshals were also on the look out for warm up lap bumping and a few folk got warned, so overall they did as much as feasibly possible.

You'll always get folk trying to gain an advantage and more than bending the rules at the start, but picking them out of a pack of 20 karts all moving around is a thankless task unless it's blatent, or the CoC just happens to see a particular driver at that time initiate the carnage.

Message is don't knock the officials and volunteers, they're there to both help and keep people safe, and can't be right 100% of the time. Too many moans and they may just find a better way to spend their weekend.
