Ready to be shot down, but here goes....
Have you ever taken the time to check the tyre temps of a Cadet with a proper type temperature probe (such as that used in car racing), not the cheap infra red ones?
You will find that Cadets generate very little heat in their tyres, even on the hotest of days, and I would say that the hardness of the compound would mean it rarely reaches optimum temperature. The wheel material would have very little effect on the tyres ability to warm up and cool down as there is no heat generated within the wheel such as there is in a car, therefore all the wheel heat will have to be generated by the tyre and transfered via the side walls and internal air (both quite good thermal insulators, but especially the air).
Fire away......I'm taking cover!
