Wise words and probably mostly on the button if we are honest with ourselves. When we were building up our experience and pace over the years we raced to our own targets, there is always someone close to your own pace; the target is to beat them etc. But once you have reached or mixed it with the front runners (only at club level for us)at the level you race, it is difficult to accept anything less and or it seems what you spend in time or money is a waste as you are not happy with how you do. Wish we could be happy with where we get and we wouldn't be missing out on karting. We just want a close race with the very occasional chance of a win! We were racing only once a month, less than that would seem pointless, but I can see the attraction of mixing racing with helping newbies.
YES letting reality catch up is probably it, we just don't want it to be!!
