so by reading all the above on how to it correctly is very interesting and you have to be a knowable mechanic/engineer to do the timing correctly, this is outside the scope of a normal person to do. So by buying the tool and time the engine yourself you have a very good chance that it is either illegal or not optimised to the limit and therefore the engine in our case will have to be send back to tuner after each strip down to ensure compliance. a friend of mine discovered his engine was also illegal as someone had machined the block down. the machine marks were not showing on top of the block and the block measurement was also incorrect (top of block to top of piston) it has now turned out that 5 further engines have been done the same way so it looks like there are lots of illegal engines out there and I was wondering how the scrutineers are going to deal with this particular issue.
