Hi all,
I am hoping somebody maybe able to offer me some advice on an issue i am having with my GTK brake. It came on a chassis i brought last year second hand and i have never had any issues with it. Over the winter i did a full rebuild on the chassis and I thought id put some new fluid through the system to make sure its nice and fresh as well as replacing the pads etc.
When i went to replace fluid i could tell the fluid currently being used was not Dot 5 like it should be, the brake had been working with no problems at all despite this. Rather than risking any mixing issues with the fluids i have had the calliper and master cylinder fully serviced by R3, new seals, ultra sonic cleaned etc.
I got the brake back today and set about bleeding it up, no matter what i try i cant seem to not get air in the system! It doesn't matter how gentle i squeeze the pedal it seems to have tiny bubble(s) coming out of the main inlet at the bottom of the master cylinder.
Iv tried the usual technique of bleed nipple open, gently apply the brake, tighten bleed nipple then releasing brake etc, making sure the fluid does not get low in the master cylinder to avoid air getting in that way.
I have also tried an easy bleed system fitted to the bleed nipple which is meant to eliminate the need to close nipple whilst bleeding, this also hasn't worked, so being desperate i tried again with the easy bleed system but adopting the usual technique in the hope that may work. NO LUCK!!!
Has anybody got any suggestions in what the problem maybe and how i can solve it!? Any advice is much appreciated, sorry about the essay!!
